The quality and efficiency of health care feature high on the Dutch Ministry of Health’s agenda this year once again. Quality and efficiency are essential to the accessibility and affordability of care in the long term. Plexus is keen to make a significant contribution in this area, both by providing advice and leadership to facilitate changes in the health care sector and by conducting strategic analysis for the policy makers.
Implementing changes in health care is a complex process. In terms of developing policy, proper research is required to ensure that effective change is achieved; on the other hand, it’s crucial that the results of that research are supported by those operating in the field, including the various professional bodies. Plexus’s strength is our extensive knowledge of the sector and our experience of what’s actually going on in health care (right down to day-to-day interaction in the workplace!). Using this knowledge base and our extensive network, we are in a position to combine well-formulated, thorough research with a dialogue with the sector.

- Research into structuring primary care according to function, for the Dutch Health Care Insurance Board
- International benchmark study into price of blood products, for the Dutch Ministry of Health, Welfare and Sports
- National benchmark study into efficiency of structure of GPs’ out-of-hours services, for the Dutch Health Care Insurance Board
- Research into productivity in collaboration with the Dutch foundation SEO Economic Research, for the Dutch Ministries of Health, Welfare and Sports and Economic Affairs
- Research into alternative distribution methods for pharmaceutical care, for the Dutch Ministry of Health, Welfare and Sports
- Functional funding of acute care, for the Dutch Health Care Insurance Board
- Study into the influence of managed care on the Dutch health care system, for the Dutch Ministry of Health, Welfare and Sports
